re: smallville, ouran and bones
It has been a while since I last updated this blog. Right now I am more active in updating my LJ than this blog. Nevertheless, at least I should write at least write a post per month. This is the month of October, meaning we are only two and a half months away from 2007 *yikes*
I am planning to write a bunch of stuffs, but right now not in the mood to write any lenghty post. so I just write about a couple of things I have been watching lately.
Smallville cast: Tom Welling (and etc. etc. etc....not so important people in my book!)
I have watched the entire 5 seasons of Smallville, and decided that it is now one of my favourite shows. Why? Because it's about Tom Welling *oops*, nope it's about Clark Kent, the man who is Superman!! After watching 5 seasons of Smallville (around a hundred of so episodes), I totally agree with the general sentiments, that Tom Welling should have been the new Superman, not Brandon Routh (well no offense, but Brandon is still handsome in my book!!!). Smallville is just not some drama about Superman, it's more about who is Clark Kent, the man underneath the costume!! Plus it has a supernatural/buffyish style (and aired on the previous WB channel now CW). It's a story about a teenage boy whose name is Clark Kent, who has powers, and adopted by the Kent Family. About a boy who tried to fit in, but feels like an outsider due to his power (can't participate in any sport event due to super speedy and super strength). About a boy who was so in love with the love of his life, Lana Lang. Also, we learn about the journey of Lex Luthor, from Clark's billionaire bestfriend into Clark's archenemy later! All in all, I recommend this series to anyone who hasn't watched it yet. Doesn't matter that maybe you are not into Superman, but remember this story is about Clark Kent, just a "regular" teenage boy trying to fit it.
Ouran High School Host
Oh I SO TOTALLY LOVE THIS ANIME! This anime is based on the manga by the same name, authored by Bisco Hatori. Currently there are only 26 episodes. Might they make a 2ns season mayhap? since the manga itself still running on HanaLala (ELex published Ouran on HanaLala monthly). I heard about this anime before, but looking at the cover, I am so afraid that the story is too yaoi for me ( I SO HATE YAOI storyline, no very into gay love rabu2). So again and again, never made myself to buy the anime at Mangga Dua. Then suddenly nere told me, that a friend of her recommended it to her. Saying that one of the Character resembles Takki! (read: drama queen, childish and narcistic? hahaha). So yeah, I finally went to Mangdu, and bought myself 9 volumes of Ouran. Result? I love it. I love Tamaki Suoh (the supposedly Takki in anime maybe?). Ouran is funny and refreshing and totally BAKA!!! My fave character is probably Tamaki Suoh, since he's the most baka of all and the most funny!!!
Bones
cast: David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel on FOX, currently on the 2nd season
The newly released DVD from Mangga Dua.Just rite on time, since I have been looking for this one, ever since reading the review from EW Fall TV Preview. Apparenly this new series premiered during the 2005-2006 season, and was not a dissapointment. It starred our favourite vampire with a soul, David Boreanas, as FBI Agent Seely Booth. So What is Bones? Basically it's similar to CSI, but the DB is literally bones a.k.a skeleton. Meaning the crime scenes had been contaminated and the crime happened a long while ago (1 to 2 years back). So Bones is the nickname of Dr Brennan, the forensic antrhopologist, who can read bones. Her main job is to identify skeletons remain. I've only watched 2 episodes so far, it hasn't growed on me yet, since usually it will need half of the season to build the chemistry among the cast. But I can tell you, this series won't dissapoint me. The perks: watching the cat and dog fight between Booth and Bones *hehehe*
